Who I am

I'm Nisha Phillip Malahoo, an educator deeply committed to fostering positive change by cultivating powerful connections that enhance the lives of students and strengthen community relationships.

My personal journey through education was marked by struggles with mathematics. Surrounded by individuals who perpetuated my insecurities, I spent years avoiding academic pursuits and labeled myself as 'not a math person.' However, a chance encounter with an inspiring educator opened my eyes to the beauty, wonder, and joy of mathematics. This transformative experience ignited a profound desire within me to redefine how students perceive this subject.

My Journey

At the heart of my educational journey is the belief in the power of hands-on learning and fostering a sense of curiosity and innovation in my students.

To bring this vision to life, I have established a dynamic STEM Club that meets both before and after school. This club serves as a vibrant space where my little scholars can explore, experiment, and discover the fascinating world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through engaging activities like hydroponics, 3D printing, drone exploration, Snap Circuits, baking experiments, robotics, and LEGO WeDo projects I have transformed my classroom into a MakerSpace Lab where my students embark on exciting adventures that expand their knowledge and encourage creativity and critical thinking.
